Lomanthang Upper Mustang
Upper Mustang (Lo Manthang) is a restricted Himalayan kingdom in Nepal, often called the “Last Forbidden Kingdom.” Located in the rain-shadow of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, it features dramatic desert landscapes, ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture, centuries-old monasteries, and walled medieval towns. The journey to Lo Manthang offers a rare glimpse into preserved Himalayan heritage, deep spiritual traditions, and breathtaking arid mountain scenery unlike anywhere else in Nepal.
